One of the highlights of my trip to France was visiting Giverny. It was the end of the season so no flowers and the sky was overcast but the magic was still there. Even with these conditions, my enthusiasim was present along with the inspiration this special place embodies. I’ve been doing a few pond scenes in the last few years, not trying to replicate what I saw but letting the memories flood my mind and onto the canvas. My imagination wanted a brighter and more colorful scene including summer lilies so that’s where the painting ended up.
