Throwback to Yesteryear

When I started painting my work was something like this.  Color and blocked areas.  I’m always a little surprised when I look back at my past paintings and compare them with what I’m doing now.  Last week I thought I’d recreate a piece similar to what used to be.  I filmed the process and you get a sneak peek now at the video.  It will premier officially this coming Wednesday, Jan 27.  What do you think?

      Thank you very much, Eileen.

  2. This is a beautiful painting with great colours, shapes and lines. It makes the day a lot more bright than what it is actually here this morning in the UK. Orange is always a colour of energy, hope and optimism. One of my favourite colours in my paintings.

Bonjour Karen! Cordialement Jean Dusart

Thank you for your comment and for supporting my art. I never know what advice to offer to other artists. Maybe the one thing I can say is don’t be intimidated or afraid. It’s just canvas and paint. If you don’t like it, paint over it – that’s how you learn. I’m a very visual person so learn better from seeing and doing and that would be my suggestion to you.

My bio on my website will give you a glimpse of my life. I’ve reinvented myself many times over the years which has given me the knowledge, confidence, and ability to keep working and trying new things. You might check other segments on my blog. You may find them helpful. Keep at it and don’t expect perfect results right away. Keep slogging away until you find your own voice. I wish all good luck in your endeavors.
