Setting Up An Art Display

Once a year in September I open my studio to clients who would like a glimpse into how I do things. My studio itself is open for people to see as well as a display on the deck of much of my work. This part is quite a project. We clear the deck of furniture and use it and every display panel I own to showcase my work.  It’s a nice spot to show the art. Here’s how the process goes….

The first panels go in place. Each measures 3’x6′.  This gives us a starting point then it’s on to the next set, then the next and a third set.

Next comes the stabilizer bars and umbrellas.

Making everything stabile and secure is very important. Then the umbrellas are put in place. The trees supply a lot of shade but the umbrellas help with more shade and ambiance.

Bringing in the artwork and deciding where it should go.

It’s up and ready to go.  I separate my various genres like landscapes, florals, and abstracts. Now to put the homemade cookies and water out and turn on the music.
