Be Bold

Be bold and add color to your paintings and to your life.  When others ask,  I often say that when you are painting, “If you don’t like it, paint over it.  It’s only paint and canvas.”  Don’t approach a painting thinking it will be the next great masterpiece and you are a failure if it doesn’t work.  Put on some music you love, forget everything else, and let it drive your art.

They don’t all work. If it’s getting to be tedious, or overworked,  it’s time to set it aside and pick it up at some other time.  Being bold refers to not only color but to daring to try.

If you need a place to get started, check out my YouTube Channel.  I have over 100 demonstration videos for you to see. Although they aren’t tutorials many tell me they find them helpful.  They are meant to be a glimpse into my process and show the progress and techniques that I use. Below are photos of some of my previous work. They range from 6×6 to 24×47.

Thank you for the encouragement, Karen! You are an inspiration! You make me want to learn to paint, but I do get discouraged easily. Will keep this in mind!
