My paintings are made up of many layers of acrylic paint presented on a gallery wrapped canvas. There are 10 or more layers on each painting and I let each dry before applying the next one. Sometimes I look at it and think I should stop at that point but when taking a closer look, I feel it needs more nuance and depth so I keep going until I feel it is just right. I work on an easel, one my Dad made, and turn it to face the door so when I go into the studio in the morning I can see what needs to be done.
