Sometimes, it takes awhile for a painting to come together. That was the case with “Distant Memories”. I wasn’t sure I could ever get it where I liked it. I had a vision in mind and was trying some new things with layering of paint, texture medium, and a gloss. That didn’t go as planned so I kept putting more and more on it. It ended up with more texture, spray paint, and stencil work. The photo shows it with a horizontal line but it actually was worked on with the line placed vertically. It’s interesting how your vision of something changes when you see it a different way.

I just love it!
Thanks, Debbie. It went through quite a metamorphosis. I do like the way the complex layers add interest.
