Impressionistic Flower Painting

The two new series I have been working on are on their way.  I’ve mentioned the floral set in the past but am now uploading YouTube videos of the process.  One I posted a few weeks ago was called “Garden Dance”.  All the florals have an impressionist feel to them with barely defined areas of color and light pen line work to give them more meaning.

The images below are detail photos of the painting, how I sign the back, and what the edges look like and in a grouping on a wall. Oh, and the YouTube video in real time so you can see the whole process.

    Love your work Karen.
How do you keep the black edging from spilling out or over onto the front canvas?

Thanks for visiting and for your comment, Deb. I use a 1′ flat brush, load it with paint, and angle it 45 degrees to the side. Let the brush extend over the edge. The paint will stay on the side. Maybe, practice with the brush loaded with water until you get the hang of it.
