Something new for me. I had a 12×12 painting kicking around the studio that I had started years ago. It has a gold metallic ground and a bit of acrylic turquoise blue. I either “saw a chicken” as my family says when you get distracted or got bored or not impressed. Anyway, it caught my eye and I pulled it out the other day and thought that alcohol inks, with their transparent quality, might be a nice addition. I was pleasantly surprised with what I was seeing as the gold shimmer came through and as one color overlapped another and created yet another. I haven’t used the alcohol inks enough to know much about them but it seems they aren’t forgiving so you pretty much take them as they are.
